Did it make the difference in THIS election, I don't know. I was pretty up on the issues, I'm pretty aware of all of Obama's shortcomings (and I think there are many), normally lean Republican, and I still chose to vote for Obama. If someone like MOI voted for Obama, how much persuasion did it really take get a less involved person to vote for him?
Let's be honest, considering how badly Pubs have run things for the last 8 years, how they moved away from traditional conservative fiscal policies, how they failed to deal with serious problems (like illegal immigration), how they were saddled with two very unpopular wars that haven't exactly gone great, how OBL is still on the loose (not really Pubs fault, but it is still a thorn in America's side), a very bad economy getting worse, and the latest fiscal crisis (even if it can't be blamed solely on Pubs), it is a miracle McCain came as close as he did (most likely, ANY Dem would have won this time around).
I don't think liberal fiscal policies are good for America in the long-run, but I am willing to give them a chance (especially since we don't seem to have much choice right now .... LOL). If they work, great; if not, America will suffer the consequences, but may eventually wake up.
RAP
PS: WAKE UP AND SMELL THE SOCIALISM .... BEEP BEEP.
