Like the owner of a bakery I once knew--his solution to everything was "bake more bread," but he didn't take into account that there's a geographic limit beyond which fresh bread can't be transported for sale.

At least Ford has started to make cars that some people might want to drive. GM remains clueless except for rare exceptions--the new Cadillac series and a couple of Chevrolet models. But not car company needs 8 different brands. It needs to simplify, enhance quality, make the vehicles more economical to operate and maintain, get rid of about 2/3rds of their dealers, take Chapter 11 to get rid of the pension and healthcare burden and the hemorrhage of cash to maintain outdated and obsolete plant sites, and enter the 21st Century.

I just don't know about Chrysler. It has mostly good products, efficiently manufactured but we can't tell what's going on behind the cloak of secrecy.
