The White House future of Democrats looked bleak after 4 years of Carter, and it was for a dozen years. Conservatives recognized how to lead, adapted, and rallied around Reagan.

Clintonites thought their "future" would also include coat-tails. It didn't. GOP back in control for 8 more years, and five of seven terms beginning in 1981.

Now you are positive your "Messiah" will lead Americans to the promised land of peace and prosperity, and keep the GOP out of power for many many years.

Maybe. Maybe not.
