Actually, from all the reports I've read, the Iraqi PEOPLE have turned against Al Qaeda because they object to the brutality Al Qaeda has shown against the Iraqi civilian population.

In addition, because of various such attacks throughout the entire region, support for terrorist attacks in general is also markedly down.

And yes, I know that Al Qaeda did not have a real presence in Iraq prior to our invasion, but they certainly became one once we were there. Thus, we HAVE been fighting Al Qaeda in Iraq and still are (in addition to others).

PS: And finally, the Taliban was giving safe haven and support to Al Qaeda in Afghanistan, and thus, I consider them just as guilty of attacking us as I do Al Qaeda .... BEEP BEEP.
