Under the same rules that qualify us for life insurance, a true health insurance premium would include adjustments for health factors such as weight, drug and alcohol use, smoking, motorcycle riding, sky diving and, (ahem), risky sexual activity.

As it is, the insurers can't qualify us this way, so it is not really insurance. Just a free medical care arrangement in which the healthy among us subsidize the unhealthy.
