Maybe the cost of shipping a car that weighs from 2-4 tons is prohibitive to sales overseas. Could that be why the foreign manufacturers all built plants here in the U.S? To be closer to the market they wanted to sell to? BRILLIANT!

Seriously, you think GM or any other auto manufacturer can build here, ship to the other side of the world and be competitive with mass production vehicles built locally (not counting the specialty or high performance vehicles)?

PS...Manufacturing cars overseas for overseas consumption adds revenue to GM and by extension allows them to keep plants here operating and employ more workers as they are growing domestically, so yes, it does create jobs HERE.
