I once designed and applied for (and received) a patent on a rather unique elastomeric face-sealing (not edge sealing) pulp stock knife gate valve, which retained the industry standard SP-81 face to face dimensions, and actually sealed "bubble-tight".
I had never dealt with a patent attorney before, and this guy did registrations, copyrights, and just about everything for various creative folks.
The long and the short of it - - if RAP can prove "Prior Art", then at the very least, no one else could copyright "LOL".
Not sure about "Beep-Fugcking-Beep", I imagine that is taken...
