Grand Canyon, Zion, Glacier Bay, Rocky Mountain, Lake Clarke, Big Bend, Great Smokey, Everglades, Deanli, Olympic, Kenai Fjords, Death Valley, Cascades, Arches, Bryce Canyon, Sequoia, Shenandoah, Grand Teton, Acadia, Mount Ranier, Mesa Verde, Redwood, Kings Canyon, Wind Cave...

And that's just the short list.

Give those "back" to the states and the process thereafter is inevitable.

- Budget looks bad for the new state capitol building and a brace of choppers for the State Police? No need to sell bonds or raise taxes. Sell part (or all) of the park!

- Alaska does great with its oil deal, so why not sell off a couple of our parks to the oil guys and give our citizens a "tax bonus"? Automatic re-election!

- We in the decorative timber industry would sure like to have some a' that straight grain, lightweight redwood! The bottom line's just waitin', along with the campaign donations! (Sell Sequoia National Park. I mean, who'll notice?)

Earlier Presidents and Congresses have helped to assure that "America the Beautiful" remains so. The states? I wouldn't trust any individual state with that heritage.

And it wouldn't make any difference to Cliven Bundy. He'd just keeping slopping at the government trough either way.
